HIV Mail-Order Pharmacy
Community Prescription Service is the nation's only gay/HIV+ owned and operated mail-order prescription service. In business since 1991, CPS provides overnight delivery, claims filing, refill tracking and financing of prescription drug orders. We also provide customers with a wealth of treatment information including our quarterly newsletter InfoPack and POZ magazine.
Community Prescription Service is based in New York City. Our fulfillment pharmacy, Continental Pharmacy is based in Cleveland.
We are seeking to fill a variety of positions in our Cleveland office. Some of these positions are immediate openings. Others will be filled over the next two to eight months. We are seeking resumes for the following:
Customer Service Advocate
Responsible for placing and tracking customer orders including: Contacting physicians' offices to get prescription authorizations, contacting shipping companies, and calling customers when prescriptions need to be refilled. Assists customers with enrolling in the service including explaining insurance benefits. Responds to customer complaints and acts as a troubleshooter. Assists customers with referrals to other service organizations. THIS IS AN IMMEDIATE OPENING.
Billing Representative
Responsible for processing and tracking outstanding insurance claims. Sets up payment plans on delinquent accounts. Negotiates with insurance companies. Acts as a liaison in supplying medical information needed by insurance companies to process claims. Knowledge of computerized billing systems and the insurance industry is a plus, as is the understanding of the complicated financial situations of people with HIV.
Pharmacist
Responsible for filling and refilling prescriptions per federal and state laws. Detailed knowledge of HIV medications a must as are good phone counseling skills. Experience working in a semiautomated, high-volume pharmacy. Reviews requests for automatic delivery of prescriptions and checks for drug interactions. Builds relationships with referring physicians. Provides prescription counseling to patients.
For all these positions, CPS is seeking caring, compassionate people with a connection to the HIV+ community. Strong follow through and attention to detail are important, as are problem solving and problem resolution skills.
